The University of Minnesota Office of the Sr. Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost presents the 2015 Guy Stanton Ford Memorial Lecture Series Speaker, Bryan Stevenson.

Stevenson’s talk, "American Injustice: Mercy, Humanity and Making a Difference" will take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 2:00p.m. at Northrop. The event is free and open to all. The event will also be live streamed 

Stevenson, known as one of the country's visionary legal thinkers and social justice advocates, is an attorney, human rights activist and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative. Stevenson’s recently published book Just Mercy tells his own story as a human rights lawyer, as well as the stories of people and injustices he has encountered throughout his time working within the criminal justice system. His similarly themed TED talk has been viewed over two million times.

The Guy Stanton Ford Memorial Lecture, held once every two years, is made possible through an endowment fund to honor Guy Stanton Ford, president of the University of Minnesota from 1938-1941. Through his leadership he helped transform the University of Minnesota into one of the nation’s top research and graduate institutions.
