Big Ten honors 101 Gopher student-athletes

The Big Ten Conference has honored 101 University of Minnesota student-athletes for their work in the classroom with Academic All-Big Ten accolades. Representing eight winter programs, the 101 Gophers earned the honor by being in at least their second academic year and achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The women's swimming & diving team paced the Gophers with 23 honorees, followed by men's swimming & diving with 18, men's hockey (17), wrestling (14), women's gymnastics (10), men's gymnastics (10), women's basketball (6), and men's basketball (3). 

Mariam Khamic (women's swimming & diving) led the way for the Gophers with a 4.0 cumulative GPA for the second-straight year. University of Minnesota student-athletes across all sports recorded the school's highest cumulative GPA last fall at 3.28.
