Thirteen U of M athletics teams have been honored with Academic Progress Rates awards, tops among public universities. The awards are given to teams performing in the top 10 percent in their sport.

Minnesota Bests Wisconsin in Border Battle

The University of Minnesota has claimed the 2014-15 Border Battle over the University of Wisconsin in the annual rivalry that tracks head-to-head and comparative results in 22 sports. The Golden Gophers outscored the Badgers 465-415.

U of M athletics recognized the achievements of its 750 student-athletes in the annual Golden Goldys/Scholar Athlete banquet, held at TCF Bank Stadium. The evening included musical performances and the awarding of prized Goldy statuettes.

Gophers Win First Big Ten Title in 20 Years

The men's tennis team captured a share of its first Big Ten regular-season title in two decades, defeating Northwestern April 19 at the Baseline Tennis Center. The No. 23 Gophers will next play Princeton in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament on May 8.
