Introduction
Alan Lifson, MD, MPH, is a professor in the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota.
Lifson’s research focuses on infectious diseases, most notably HIV/AIDS.
In an international context, Lifson has taught, consulted, or conducted research on HIV and other infectious diseases in Africa, Eastern Europe, the Caribbean, and Asia.
Currently, Lifson’s work focuses on a community support intervention for people living with HIV in Ethiopia. In Minnesota, he is the clinical director for the Minnesota site of the Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center (MATEC), which works to educate and train health care professionals.
