What: UMPD awards ceremony and swearing in ceremony for new Chief Matthew Clark

New University of Minnesota Police Chief Matthew Clark will be officially sworn in on Wednesday, July 22 in the Beacon Multi-Purpose Room at the University of Minnesota Recreation and Wellness Center. The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. The event will also include recognition for UMPD officers who have excelled in the line of duty.
Chief Clark began his UMPD duties earlier this month after more than two decades with the Minneapolis Police Department. He leads the UMPD on the Twin Cities campus and the system-wide Public Safety Emergency Communications Center.
Chief Clark earned a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement and Public Administration from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a Master of Arts in Public Administration/Human Services from Concordia University in St. Paul. He is also a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership Institute, the Senior Management Institute for Police, and the FBI National Academy.
