U Of M Technological Leadership Institute Director Dr. Massoud Amin Receives Visionary Leader Award From Cyber Security Summit

The University of Minnesota Technological Leadership Institute (TLI) is proud to announce Director, Dr. Massoud Amin has received the 2015 Visionary Leader Award from Cyber Security Summit. Dr. Amin was honored for conceptualizing the annual event, and his unwavering support of the summit’s mission to bring together industry, government and academic interests in an effort to improve the state of cyber security.

“I am honored and humbled to accept this award from Cyber Security Summit,” says Dr. Amin. “The objective of this Summit is to address the increasingly important issues surrounding cybersecurity. Five years later, the Summit has become a pivotal event in fostering partnerships and developing solutions to address cyber security on a global level.”

In 2011, it was Dr. Amin who identified Minnesota’s unique position to build awareness and lead in the area of cyber security. Due to the state being the home of many Fortune 500 companies, he and TLI Senior Fellow Gopal Khanna suggested an annual Summit as a way to help spark collaboration between academia, government and private business. Thanks to Dr. Amin’s vision, the Cyber Security Summit is thriving, and has established itself as a place where leaders can meet to exchange ideas and generate solutions.

“Dr. Amin has not only personally dedicated his own time and energy to ensuring the Summit is a success year after year, the University of Minnesota Technological Leadership Institute has also remained a proud presenting sponsor,” says Eileen Manning, executive producer of the Cyber Security Summit. “Dr. Amin is steadfast in his support and dedication to this cause, and more than deserving of the Visionary Leader Award.”
