UMAA's Lisa Lewis elected to CASE board, named chair on Alumni Relations

Lisa Lewis, President and CEO of the University of Minnesota's Alumni Association, was recently elected to the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) board of trustees at the annual membership meeting at the 2017 CASE Summit for Leaders in Advancement in San Francisco, California. She was also appointed to chair the Commission on Alumni Relations.
 
"Lisa’s election to the CASE board of trustees and her appointment to chair the Commission on Alumni Relations are testaments to her dedication to the field of advancement and her expertise in alumni relations,” said University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler. “Her leadership and strategic insight will have a lasting impact on higher education.”

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) is a professional association serving educational institutions and the advancement professionals who work on their behalf in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and allied areas. Founded in 1974, it is one of the world’s largest nonprofit educational associations, serving more than 3,670 colleges and universities, primary and secondary independent and international schools, and nonprofit organizations in more than 82 countries around the globe. It serves nearly 81,000 advancement professionals on the staffs of member institutions.

The Commission on Alumni Relations is made up of 17 advancement professionals from all types of CASE member institutions. The commission seeks to:

  • Frame and direct research related to alumni relations programs and activities;
  • Evaluate practices and establish professional standards for the profession; and
  • Provide advice and counsel to CASE leadership to ensure that the organization's programs, products and services reflect current knowledge and emerging trends.

Commission members are appointed by the CASE Board of Trustees.
