Introduction
Heidi A. Roop, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the University of Minnesota College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences.
Roop is an expert in climate science, from our changing polar regions to the impacts and implications of climate change in Minnesota. A significant portion of her work involves helping communities, governments, utilities, and tribes prepare for the impacts of climate change.
Roop works closely with decision makers to integrate climate science into planning, policy, and investment decisions in support of equitable, climate-ready communities. As an expert in connecting science to action, she is dedicated to training scientists, students, and others in effective science communication and methods for the use and application of climate science in decision-making.
