Introduction
Patricia A. Frazier, Ph.D., is the director of graduate studies of the Department of Psychology, a Distinguished McKnight University Professor and the director of the Stress and Trauma Lab in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota.
Frazier’s Stress and Trauma Lab focuses on the effects of stress and trauma, including their negative effects (e.g., depression, anxiety) as well as resilience following adversity.
The lab also studies factors associated with better functioning in the face of stress and trauma, including perceived present control and coping. It recently focused on examining these factors using daily-diary methods. The lab also has developed technology-based interventions to teach skills for coping with stress.
The lab’s current research focuses primarily on student mental health.
