The University of Minnesota spirit squads once again turned in terrific performances at the recent 2018 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship in Orlando.

Goldy Gopher led the way, claiming a national title in the mascot division. This is the second straight national championship for Goldy following a second-place finish in 2016.

As usual, Minnesota's perennially powerful dance team turned in another strong performance, taking second in both the Pom and Jazz divisions. Minnesota won the previous eight Pom titles and has now finished in the top two in Jazz each of the last three years.

Minnesota also placed second in Cheer Game Day and fourth in All Girl Game Day. The Gophers all-girl cheer team finished sixth, while co-ed ended the competition in 11th place.
