University of Minnesota alumnus Tom Staggs has been named Disney’s chief operating officer—its No. 2 executive. Staggs, a 1982 Carlson School graduate who delivered the school’s commencement address last spring, has been the chair of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and prior to that was Disney’s chief financial officer.

As she looks forward to graduation, Baza Haile-Selassie is excited to start her career after being recruited by a locally headquartered international corporation.
